How we choose
Five steps before a tutor meets a family
We keep the team small on purpose. It means we know every tutor's teaching first-hand, and we can stay close to every family they work with.
- Subjects
- Maths, English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Coding & Computing
- Levels
- KS2, KS3, GCSE
- Lessons
- One to one, online, on a video call we set up and manage
Application and background
We look at subject knowledge, qualifications and teaching experience before we speak to anyone.
A conversation with our team
We talk through how they teach, how they work with children and how they handle a lesson that isn't going to plan.
A sample lesson
They teach part of a lesson to our team, so we judge how they explain — not how well they describe themselves.
Checks, stated plainly
We record which checks we've completed for each tutor and tell you exactly which ones apply to yours. We don't claim checks or accreditation we don't have.
Support after they start
We read the report after every lesson, listen to what parents tell us and step in when something needs to change.
Meeting your tutor
You'll know exactly who is teaching your child
Once we've checked the fit, we send you a private introduction to the tutor we recommend. Then your child meets them in a 30-minute assessment (£5) before you agree to any plan.
Not the right fit? Tell us and we'll look at the alternatives with you.
- Who they are
- Their name, a photo where they've agreed to share one, and a short note from them.
- Their background
- What they studied, what they've taught and the levels they work with.
- Checks completed
- Listed one by one — only the ones we've actually done.
- Why we chose them
- How their approach fits what you told us about your child.
